Jokerstars: The Online "Gambling" Site

Whether anyone will read this blog or not I do not know but I had to get something off of my chest. This is about the online gambling fad and one particular site we'll call it "Jokerstars". Online gambling on "Jokerstars" is possibly the worst investment one could make with their hard-earned money. These sites may be the most unsafe sites to put money on. They are all based in Asia or some third world country you could never reach for help. So what your left with is their word that they have an honest site(anyone who has played on "Jokerstars" knows this is not always the case). Now the argument you'll hear is that the site has no gain to make by dishing out horribly bad beats after all another player is getting your money and the site only make a constant rake. Unfortunately this is not the case. In fact the site has a lot to gain by dealing out unrealistic hands. For one if every bad player puts their money on and then goes out immediatley by playing badly chances are they do not make another deposit any time soon. By letting these player win a few hands in and there it enables the site to keep these players playing and hopefully depositing. Maybe the most important reason is that the quicker they get players off their tables the quicker said player will be able to buy into another tournament equalling another rake for "Jokerstars". Particularly after a bad beat a player will want to get right back into a game to hopefully redeem himself, sadly though "Jokerstars" will not make that easy for him. Maybe the saddest part about the online gambling scene is watching all your favorite players sell out. Professional players know that these sites are not legitimate and yet they endorse them anyway. We all know that the main goal for any poker player is to make money but personally I'd like to see it down while still maintaining ethics not only at the table but with endorsement deals away from it. So these players encourage their fans through commercials as well as clothing they wear during tournaments to put their money on these "learning sites" to be swindled by some off shore company out of the legislation of the U.S government. Maybe one day when the U.S steps in and either abolishes online gambling or legalizes and legislates you can safely learn to play poker at home but trust me that day is not today.
